Kwara: Four Farmers Abducted in Fresh Bandit Attack on Bokungi Village |LAGOS EYE NEWS

Panic has enveloped Bokungi village in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State after bandits launched a brazen attack on farmers on Wednesday evening, abducting four people.

The assault occurred while residents were busy harvesting and packaging rice—an activity that usually marks a period of relief for farming families but has now turned into tragedy.

According to reports from NupekoTv-Lafiagi, the attack took place between 6:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. A resident told the outlet that the assailants stormed two separate farms, taking advantage of the busy harvest season.

In the first incident, two farmers were kidnapped while packaging their harvested rice. Shortly afterward, another two individuals were seized from a nearby farm, bringing the total number of abducted victims to four.

The coordinated strike has intensified fear across the community, which has increasingly become vulnerable to criminal activities targeting rural farmers. Residents say the latest incident underscores the precarious security situation for agricultural workers who play a critical role in the state’s food production.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has recorded another major success in its counterterrorism campaign with a precision air interdiction mission carried out on 19 November 2025 at ARRA, a notorious terrorist enclave within the Sambisa Forest region.

Acting on the directive of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, NAF fighter jets targeted the location following a series of intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) operations. The ISR missions monitored terrorist movements linked to the 17 October ambush on ground troops at Kashomri.

According to a statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the airstrike successfully destroyed all identified targets. The operation dealt a significant blow to the terrorists’ operational capability, disrupting their command structure and logistics networks.

The Nigerian Air Force says it remains committed to supporting ongoing joint military operations aimed at restoring peace and stability in the North-East.
