The President of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Pastor Samuel Olusegun Oladele, has paid a condolence visit to Eruku Town following the tragic attack on a local CAC assembly in which three worshippers were killed and 38 others abducted by armed bandits.
The violent incident, described as unprovoked and premeditated, occurred on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at about 6 p.m. while service was in progress.
The assault, which has drawn widespread global condemnation, left three members dead and saw the abduction of 38 congregants, including women, children, and elderly worshippers.
Pastor Oladele, who was warmly received by the Superintendent of the Eruku Zone, Pastor Lawrence Abiodun Bamidele, alongside other ministers, elders, and members of the church, said he chose to visit personally to comfort the grieving community and offer encouragement in their time of distress.
Expressing deep sorrow over the attack, Pastor Oladele lamented the targeting of innocent worshippers, particularly vulnerable individuals such as children and the aged.
Despite the grim circumstances, the CAC President reaffirmed his faith in God’s protection, expressing hope for the safe return of all abducted members.
“We serve a living God, and He remains God in all situations. He promised never to leave nor forsake us; we trust Him to do just that,” he said.
Pastor Oladele also used the occasion to call on the government and security agencies to intensify efforts in tackling the growing menace of insecurity across the country. “We are not saying that the government is not doing anything, but their best is not good enough. God placed them in the office to ensure the safety and welfare of the people. The challenges may be enormous, but security must be prioritised,” he added.
The CAC President offered prayers for the immediate and safe return of those abducted and later paid a courtesy visit to the Owa of Eruku, Oba Busari Olanrewaju, where he prayed for peace and prosperity in the community.
Pastor Oladele was accompanied on the visit by the Regional Superintendent of Babajide Region (CAC Kwara and Kogi States), Pastor S.O. Owolabi; Special Assistant to the CAC President, Pastor T.D. Asokeji; Personal Assistant to the CAC General Evangelist, Evangelist Marvelous Okunola; and other officials.
