Nigerian musician Teniola Apata, popularly known as Teni, has reacted to a distress message posted by legendary singer Innocent “2Face” Idibia on social media.
2Face had on Wednesday shared a brief but troubling message “Help me” on his Instagram Story.
The post, which was later deleted, marked the first time he had spoken publicly since controversy surrounding him and his wife, Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru, began trending online.
Responding to the development, Teni posted a video on Instagram calling on fellow artistes Timaya and Kcee to intervene. “2Face my legend, we’re coming to save you,” she captioned the clip.
The public concern comes amid ongoing reports of marital tension between 2Face and Osawaru. Trouble was said to have begun in the United Kingdom, where the couple allegedly engaged in a heated confrontation that drew police attention and reportedly led to the singer’s brief arrest.
The issue resurfaced during an Instagram Live session with broadcaster Daddy Freeze, where both parties were seen arguing, fuelling further speculation about unrest in their marriage.
Before 2Face’s deleted post, his brother, Hyacinth Idibia, had shared a now-viral message on Instagram expressing deep concern about the singer’s wellbeing. The message was accompanied by lyrics from one of 2Face’s inspirational songs.
“You’ve always been ahead, always been brilliant. Lyrics meant to inspire, but somehow it’s unfolding in real time… Painful reality. Allow us to save you. You’ve been suffering for too long. God knows,” Hyacinth wrote.
Meanwhile, the Edo State House of Assembly has summoned Osawaru, who represents Egor Constituency, to appear before its Ethics and Privileges Committee over her recent conduct captured in a viral video. She is expected to appear within a week.
Teni, in her reaction video, added humorously: “We’re coming to save you from your husband’s house,” further amplifying the wave of public concern surrounding the singer.
