As Lagos prepares to host hundreds of thousands of worshipers for the world’s largest gospel concert, The Experience 2025, the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) has announced extended operations on the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line to ease movement across the city.
LAGOS EYE NEWS reports that the annual worship gathering, convened by Paul Adefarasin, Metropolitan and Senior Pastor of House On The Rock Church, marks its 20th edition this year with the theme “JESUS UNITED.” The event holds on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by LAMATA’s Head of Corporate Communications, Kolawole Ojelabi, the agency said the extended service is designed to accommodate the massive influx of attendees expected on Lagos Island.
“To manage the anticipated surge in passenger movement to and from Lagos Island, the LRMT Blue Line will run longer hours on Friday, December 5, 2025, till 11:43 p.m., beyond its regular closing time of 9:30 p.m. On Saturday, December 6, 2025, operations will commence at 4:00 a.m. and continue until 9:30 p.m. to support post-event return trips and regular weekend travel,” the statement read.
Ojelabi added that the LRMT Red Line will maintain its usual Friday schedule of 6:00 a.m.–10:00 a.m. and 5:20 p.m.–8:40 p.m., ensuring availability for evening commuters.
He clarified that the Red Line does not operate on Saturdays, and all LRMT services will return to their standard timetable on Sunday, December 7, 2025.
LAMATA emphasized that both the Red and Blue Line trains remain fully open to the public throughout the weekend. Commuters are required to use their Cowry Cards for access and are encouraged to plan their journeys, adhere to station instructions, and cooperate with officials for a smooth travel experience.
LAGOS EYE NEWS also reports that the 20th edition of The Experience is more than a concert it is a global celebration of worship that unites generations, nations, and cultures under Christ. Despite attracting international attention and hosting diplomats, business leaders, clergy, and political figures, the event remains free and open to all, staying true to its mission of inclusivity and unity.
