President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah on Monday presided over the Commissioning Ceremony of Namibia’s newly appointed Heads of Mission at State House in Windhoek, outlining a renewed diplomatic mandate focused on national interest, economic advancement and global peace.
During the ceremony, the President reaffirmed that Namibia’s foreign policy remains anchored in safeguarding national interests, strengthening bilateral and multilateral relations, and promoting peace and security across Africa and the wider international community.
She emphasised the central role of economic diplomacy in attracting investment and driving national development.
President Nandi-Ndaitwah urged the diplomats to execute their duties with integrity, humility and professionalism.
She further encouraged them to cultivate strong relationships with their host countries, champion the priorities of the Sixth National Development Plan (NDP6), and maintain close engagement with the Namibian diaspora.
The newly commissioned Heads of Mission include:
- Mr. Walde Natangwe Ndevashiya – Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Nigeria
- Dr. Alfredo Tjiurimo Hengari – Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium
- Mr. Goms Menette – High Commissioner to the Republic of Zambia
- Ms. Ndiyakupi Nghituwamata – High Commissioner to the Republic of Ghana
- Ms. Rosina //Hoabes – Ambassador to Japan
- Mr. Weich Murcle Uapendura Mupya – Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt
- Mr. David Thomas – Ambassador to the Republic of Zimbabwe
In her closing remarks, President Nandi-Ndaitwah called on the diplomats to uplift Namibia’s image globally and ensure that every international engagement translates into meaningful development at home.
