Former Oyo State Commissioner for Finance and Deputy Chief of Staff during the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s administration, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, has officially joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Adekanmbi was welcomed into the party on Thursday at Gbadaefon Township, Ward 4 in Ona-Ara Local Government Area, under the Oyo Central Senatorial District.

The former commissioner, who was a senatorial aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the 2023 general elections, had previously contested in the APC primaries for the Oyo South Senatorial District ticket.

Before his defection, Adekanmbi tendered his resignation from the APC in a letter addressed to the party’s Ward 1 chairman in Ibadan North-East Local Government Area.

His move to the PDP is being viewed as another major development in the shifting political dynamics of Oyo State.
