The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed deep shock over the sudden death of the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Lawrence Oborawharievwo Ewhrudjakpo, who reportedly collapsed and died earlier in Thursday.
In a statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ini Ememobong, the party described the incident as devastating, noting that the National Working Committee led by Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, as well as the entire PDP family, particularly members in Bayelsa State, have been thrown into profound mourning.
The PDP praised the late Ewhrudjakpo as an honest and steadfast politician who was guided by strong principles and integrity.
The party said he was a leader defined by conviction and character, values he upheld until his last moments.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of this hero of political integrity, and we pray that God grants his soul eternal rest,” the statement read.
The party extended its condolences to the government and people of Bayelsa State, describing the loss as painful and irreparable.
