The Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Chief Executive Officer of MicCom Cables and Wires, Chief (Prince) Tunde Laoye-Ponle, describing his passing as “the exit of a giant.”
In a condolence message, Governor Adeleke said the demise of the renowned industrialist was painful beyond words, noting that the late Prince Ponle made exceptional contributions to the economic growth of Osun State and the country at large.
The governor extended his heartfelt sympathies to the immediate and extended family, associates, and admirers of the deceased, stating that Prince Ponle lived a fulfilled life marked by remarkable achievements and enduring legacies of societal impact.
“I am visibly shaken to learn about the passing of Chief (Prince) Tunde Laoye-Ponle. While alive, Prince Ponle was a model citizen who contributed not only his intellect but also his God-given abilities to solving some of society’s challenges,” Adeleke said.
He highlighted the economic and social benefits of Prince Ponle’s investments, including the multi-million naira MicCom Golf and Recreation Centre in Ada, as well as his notable philanthropic interventions at Osun State University (UNIOSUN), where his donated building and the MicCom Cancer Centre continue to serve the institution.
According to the governor, although Prince Ponle passed on at the age of 94, his death remains devastating, as Osun State has lost one of its finest and most impactful citizens.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Osun State, I extend my heartfelt condolences to Her Excellency, Chief Mrs. Titi Laoye-Ponle, the children, family members, and all those affected by the passing of Prince Ponle,”
