Former Oyo State First Lady, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, has paid a glowing tribute to her late husband, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, as he would have marked his 76th birthday.
In a heartfelt message released on the occasion, Mrs Ajimobi said she chose to remember and celebrate the former governor not with grief alone, but with deep gratitude for a life lived with purpose and impact.
She described her late husband on social media as a man of strong values who served with conviction and loved deeply, noting that his influence continues to shape her life and inspire many others.
“Though time continues its steady march, his presence remains deeply woven into my life — in the values he stood for, the lives he touched, and the legacy he left behind,” she said.
The former First Lady acknowledged the pain of his absence but stressed that his contributions and ideals remain enduring.
“His absence is felt, yet his impact endures. I honour him not in sorrow alone, but in gratitude — for the 40 years we shared, the lessons he taught, and the strength his life continues to give me,” she added.
Mrs Ajimobi concluded by reaffirming her enduring love and pride, saying that although her late husband may be gone from sight, he remains forever in her heart.
Senator Abiola Ajimobi, a former governor of Oyo State, died on June 25, 2020 after a brief illness.
