A Ghanaian man who drew international attention after predicting a world-ending flood on Christmas Day has said the disaster was delayed following what he described as further divine revelations.
Ebo Noah went viral earlier this year after claiming he had received a warning from God that a catastrophic three-year rainfall would begin on 25 December and destroy the world.
He constructed a large wooden structure, known as the Ebo Noah Ark, which he said was built under divine instruction, and called on people to repent ahead of the predicted disaster.
The prophecy attracted widespread attention on social media and in the international press, with visitors travelling from across Ghana and other countries to see the ark.
However, no such flood occurred.
In a video statement released on Thursday, Mr Noah said he received a new revelation after what he described as intense prayer, fasting and consultations with other religious leaders.
He said the new vision showed that the number of people who would seek refuge in the ark from around the world was far greater than its capacity.
According to Mr Noah, he pleaded for intervention and was granted additional time to construct more arks.
“God reveals to redeem,” he said. “When I saw the number of people coming from all over the country and the world, the ark could not contain them.”
He said he shared the vision with other religious leaders, who joined him in prayer, after which more time was granted.
Mr Noah urged members of the public not to travel to the ark’s location, stressing that he was not selling tickets or collecting money.
“Nobody should rush to any location,” he said. “I am not taking money from anyone.”
He encouraged people to remain calm, celebrate the festive season and continue to repent, insisting that his message remained valid.
“Please stay home. Enjoy yourself. Have fun,” he said. “I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
