Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday visited his ward, Ward E3 (Premier Ward), Adeniji Adele, Lagos Island, to electronically revalidate his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos Island East Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

The governor completed the revalidation exercise at the ward alongside other party members, marking his participation in the ongoing statewide and nationwide APC membership registration and revalidation exercise.

Speaking to journalists after the exercise, Sanwo-Olu urged existing party members to revalidate their membership and encouraged new supporters to formally join the party. He noted that the exercise, which runs throughout the month of January, is a critical process for strengthening the party’s structure and authenticity.

According to the governor, registering as a party member is the minimum requirement for anyone who wishes to be regarded as a genuine, card-carrying member of the APC.

He expressed satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the exercise at his ward, describing the turnout and organisation as encouraging.

Sanwo-Olu explained that the electronic registration process requires physical presence for verification, as members are required to provide their National Identification Number (NIN), after which the system retrieves their details and requests their address.

He added that the process is efficient, with registration completed within five to ten minutes using laptops and tablets operated by designated officials.

The governor stressed that the revalidation exercise is essential for confirming the status of bona fide party members, urging all APC faithful to take the process seriously.
