A member, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Prince Nureni Akinsanya, has said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is well positioned to secure a second term in office, arguing that no opposition party currently has the strength to defeat him in the 2027 general election.
He made the remarks on Thursday while receiving members of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT) Youth Movement during a courtesy visit to his office at the Lagos State House of Assembly complex.
Akinsanya, who is Chairman of the House Committee on Public Accounts (Local), praised the group for what he described as sustained grassroots mobilisation in support of the President and his “Renewed Hope” agenda.
He said unity and coordination within the group would be critical ahead of the next general election.
“We are going to do everything to return President Tinubu in 2027. Insha Allah, he will return as the President of Nigeria,” he said, adding that the group must remain organised and focused on its activities.
He assured the group of his backing, promising to offer support where necessary to strengthen their political outreach.
Earlier, the Coordinator of the BAT Youth Movement 2027 for the South-West and Lagos State, Hon. Bukola Lawal, said the group was committed to promoting President Tinubu’s re-election bid.
She said the visit was aimed at briefing the lawmaker on the movement’s objectives and seeking his support. “We have been engaging the public to promote President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in 2027,” she said.
The group, she added, would continue its mobilisation efforts across the region in the lead-up to the next general election.
