The Vice-Chancellor, University of Abuja, Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, has commenced a working visit to several faculties as part of efforts to strengthen academic and administrative performance.
Professor Fawehinmi said the tour was designed to give University Management first-hand insight into the challenges and opportunities within the faculties, noting that such engagement would support informed and effective decision-making.
During the visit, the Vice-Chancellor met with staff and management of the Faculties of Basic Medical Sciences, Basic Clinical Sciences and Clinical Sciences under the College of Health Sciences, as well as the Faculty of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences and the proposed Faculty of Geography and Atmospheric Sciences.
He also inspected facilities at the University’s Main Library, where he formally unveiled a collection of books donated by Book Aid International.
Addressing deans and staff, Professor Fawehinmi reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to tackling challenges hindering the effective discharge of academic and professional duties, with the aim of fostering a more conducive environment for teaching, learning and research.
He called on members of the University community to work together in advancing the institution’s goals and overall development.
