The management of Yaba College of Technology in Lagos has announced a ban on all sign-out activities traditionally carried out by final-year students after examinations.
In a circular issued by the institution’s Registrar, Mrs Badejo H.A.G., the college warned that students who engage in such activities will be subject to disciplinary action.
According to the statement, any student or group of students found violating the directive will be referred to the institution’s Disciplinary Panel for appropriate sanctions.
The college management also directed Deans of Schools and Heads of Departments to ensure full compliance with the ban. They were further instructed to sensitise final-year students on the consequences of disobeying the directive.
The circular stated that the ban takes immediate effect.
Yaba College of Technology is one of Nigeria’s leading tertiary institutions, with a large population of final-year students who traditionally mark the end of examinations with sign-out activities.
