A former Dean of the Postgraduate School, University of Ilorin, Prof. Yusuf Lanre Badmas, is dead.
His death, which was announced by Royal News on Friday, comes less than two weeks after the death of the 12th Chief Imam of Ilorin, Shaykh (Dr) Muhammad Bashir Imam Solih.
The reports gathered that the late academic served as the reviewer of the biography titled The Spiritual Orator, which chronicles the life and clerical journey of the former Chief Imam and Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Ulama.
Although Prof. Badmas could not attend the book presentation, he was represented at the event by his son, an associate professor at the University of Ilorin.
Burial arrangements are expected to be communicated later by the family of the deceased.
Recall that the 12th Chief Imam of Ilorin died on Monday, January 19, 2026, at the age of 75.
He passed away at a hospital in Abuja after a brief illness and was later buried in Ilorin, Kwara State. He served as the Chief Imam of Ilorin for over 40 years.
