The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) says it has concluded accommodation arrangements for Nigerian pilgrims participating in the 2026 Hajj in both Makkah and Madinah, ahead of deadlines set by Saudi Arabian authorities.
NAHCON Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, said the accommodation uploads have been completed and approved by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, marking a key milestone in preparations for the pilgrimage.
He said the development followed a directive from Vice President Kashim Shettima, who instructed that all critical Hajj arrangements be finalised within Saudi-approved timelines to protect Nigeria’s operational interests.
Professor Usman acknowledged the Vice President’s guidance and support throughout the process, as well as the contributions of a high-level Nigerian delegation to Saudi Arabia, the NAHCON Board, the Nusuk Masar team, leaders of the Forum of State Pilgrims Welfare Boards, NAHCON staff and other stakeholders involved in the accommodation process.
With the arrangements completed, NAHCON said Nigeria is now among countries that have secured accommodation for the 2026 Hajj within the stipulated timeframe.
The Commission said it will now move to the next phase of operational preparations for the 2026 pilgrimage.
