Makinde Opens New PDP Headquarters in Ibadan, Declares End to Party Disruptions | LAGOS EYE NEWS

The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has inaugurated a new secretariat for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibadan, marking what he described as a turning point for unity and stability within the party.

The new facility, located in the Oke-Ado area of Ibadan, was officially unveiled during a ceremony attended by party leaders and supporters. Governor Makinde said the development signalled the end of internal disruptions that had previously affected the party’s operations in the state.

National Chairman of the PDP, Dr Kabiru Turaki, SAN, performed the formal unveiling of the secretariat. The building was donated by Governor Makinde, a gesture party official described as evidence of his strong commitment to strengthening the PDP’s institutional structure in Oyo State and beyond.

Governor Makinde emphasised that his administration remained separate from the party’s ongoing legal and leadership disputes at the national level. He noted that the state government would not interfere in internal party matters.

In recognition of local party leadership, the governor announced that the secretariat would be named after the Oyo State PDP Chairman, Alhaji Omokunmi Mustapha. He also confirmed that ownership of the property would be formally transferred to the party’s board of trustees to ensure its long-term management and preservation.

Party officials said the new secretariat would serve as a central hub for political coordination and organisational activities, helping to reinforce stability within the PDP in Oyo State.
