Lagos State has dispatched the second batch of its 2025 Christian pilgrims to Jordan and Israel, with the group departing from Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja.
Officials urged the pilgrims to act responsibly and uphold the state’s image while abroad. The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Adewunmi Ogunsanya, called on them to be good ambassadors and comply with the laws of their host countries.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Christian Religious Matters, Very Reverend Bukola Adeleke, said the pilgrims should demonstrate appreciation to the Lagos State Government by maintaining discipline and representing the state with dignity.
Board Secretary of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Dr Okudero Omoniyi, said the first group of pilgrims had set a positive example. He expressed confidence that the second batch would build on that standard during the pilgrimage.
The pilgrims are expected to visit key biblical sites, including the Sea of Galilee, the River Jordan and locations in Jerusalem associated with the life of Jesus. The journey is aimed at strengthening their faith and deepening their understanding of Christian history.
Their departure comes a day after the first batch of 200 pilgrims arrived in the region.
