Bellarmine Chatunga Mugabe, the youngest son of former Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe, has been taken into police custody following a shooting incident at the family’s home in Hyde Park.
The incident occurred at the property in Hyde Park, an affluent suburb of Johannesburg.
Emergency services were called to the scene and rushed a 23-year-old gardener to hospital. He remains in critical condition, according to local reports.
Police said two people had been detained for questioning. However, authorities have not released further details, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear.
Robert Mugabe, who led Zimbabwe for 37 years, was forced from office in 2017 following a military intervention. He died in 2019 at the age of 95.
