Rep Bamidele Salam Defects from PDP to Accord Party |LAGOS EYE NEWS

A member of the House of Representatives, Bamidele Salam representing Ede North/Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Accord Party in Osun State.

Salam officially received his membership card of the Accord Party on Friday at Awo/Abudo Ward 1 in Egbedore Local Government Area of the state.

LAGOS EYE News reports that the card was presented to him by the Osun State Chairman of the party, Pastor Victor Akande.

The lawmaker described the move as part of a political realignment aimed at supporting the re-election bid of Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, in the August 15 governorship election.

Salam also indicated that the decision aligns with his plan to seek re-election to the House of Representatives in the 2027 general election under the platform of the Accord Party.

He expressed gratitude to his constituents and political leaders for the opportunity to represent them in the National Assembly.

“I am grateful to God Almighty and to my leaders and the people of my constituency for the rare opportunity of service in the House of Representatives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Salam said.
