Terrorists Yet to Release NYSC Member After Collecting ₦10m Ransom, Two Motorcycles in Zamfara|LAGOS EYE NEWS

Suspected terrorists have reportedly refused to release an abducted member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Zamfara State despite receiving ₦10 million and two motorcycles as ransom.

The victim, identified simply as Abba, was kidnapped earlier in the state. According to sources familiar with the incident, the abductors demanded cash and motorcycles as conditions for his release.

Sources said the motorcycles were delivered to the kidnappers as instructed, along with the ₦10 million payment.

However, the assailants have allegedly introduced a new demand, insisting on two additional motorcycles before they will consider releasing the corps member.

The latest development has heightened concerns among residents and stakeholders over the safety of corps members posted to volatile areas, as well as the worsening security situation in parts of Zamfara.

Security authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the matter as of the time of filing this report.
