ICPC Arrests Former Minister Uche Nnaji Over Alleged Certificate Forgery |LAGOS EYE NEWS

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has reportedly arrested former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, over allegations of certificate forgery and perjury.

Nnaji, who recently emerged as the PDP governorship candidate for the 2027 Enugu State election, is alleged to have submitted forged academic and NYSC credentials during his ministerial screening process. The anti-corruption agency has been investigating the claims for several months.

His arrest reportedly followed a Federal High Court order granting the ICPC permission to take him into custody as investigations continue.

The certificate controversy had earlier sparked intense public debate and was linked to his departure from the Federal Executive Council in 2025.

Despite the allegations, Nnaji has consistently denied any wrongdoing. He previously dismissed reports of an investigation or arrest warrant against him, describing the claims as politically motivated and maintaining that he would vindicate himself through the judicial process.
