Three Nigerians Arrested in India Over Alleged Drug Trafficking|LAGOS EYE NEWS



Indian Government have arrested three Nigerian nationals over alleged drug trafficking following a raid on a residential property prompted by a tip-off.

According to police, officers recovered 10.27 kilograms of MDMA, a banned synthetic drug, with an estimated street value of US$2.5 million.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects entered India on medical and tourist visas.

Police further alleged that the seized drugs were supplied by another Nigerian national believed to be based in Delhi.

The latest arrests come about two months after four other Nigerians were arrested in separate cases involving alleged fraud and impersonation in India.

Investigations into the drug trafficking case are ongoing.
