The Organising Secretary of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Lagos State Council, Comrade Toba Ajiboye, has died, days after he was reportedly attacked by unknown gunmen.
His death was confirmed by the Chairman of the NURTW Lagos State Council, Mustapha Adio Adekunle, popularly known as Sego, in a tribute posted on his official Instagram page.
In the emotional message, Sego described the late Ajiboye as a loyal friend, dependable ally, and committed union leader whose contributions to the NURTW would not be forgotten.
“The news of the sudden passing of Comrade Toba Ajiboye has left me deeply saddened and heartbroken. It is difficult to come to terms with the loss of such a loyal, dependable, and committed ally,” Sego wrote.
According to him, Ajiboye played a key role in the growth of the Lagos State Council and remained a strong pillar of TeamSego and SegoNation throughout his service.
Sego extended his condolences to the deceased’s family, friends, and members of the NURTW, praying for God to forgive Ajiboye’s shortcomings, grant him eternal rest, and give his loved ones the strength to bear the loss.
He concluded the tribute by describing Ajiboye’s loyalty, friendship, and unwavering support as qualities that would remain unforgettable, adding that he would be deeply missed.
