DSS Releases Carpenter After Investigation Clears Him Of Terrorism Links |LAGOS EYE NEWS

The Department of State Services (DSS) has released a carpenter, Mustapha Marwana, after investigations cleared him of any links to terrorist activities.

Marwana, a native of Katsina State, was arrested in connection with the abduction and killing of school pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

However, investigations by a DSS panel reportedly found no evidence linking him to the membership, financing, logistics or operations of the Ansaru terrorist group.

Following the outcome of the investigation, the Director-General of the DSS, Oluwatosin Adeola Ajayi, ordered Marwana’s immediate release and approved an initial compensation of N3 million to support his reintegration and livelihood.

The carpenter was released to his lawyer, Oghene Forgive.

Speaking after his release, Marwana expressed appreciation to the DSS leadership for what he described as a humane intervention.

The DSS said the compensation was part of its efforts to support individuals cleared after investigations and strengthen public confidence in the Service.

The Service further disclosed that more than N300 million had been paid under the current leadership to individuals cleared of allegations or affected by cases of mistaken identity.
