An Ogun State-based pastor, Olabanjo Felix Gold, has reportedly abandoned the Christian faith and embraced the traditional Yoruba religious practice of Ifá.

Gold, who was previously the pastor of Image of God Evangelical & Prophetic Ministries, is said to have taken up the identity of a Babalawo Onifa following the reported change in his spiritual path.

The development has sparked reactions among residents and social media users, with many expressing surprise at the former pastor’s decision.

The reasons for his reported conversion, as well as the circumstances surrounding the transition, remain unclear.

The development has also renewed discussions about personal beliefs, spirituality and freedom of religion, with some people defending an individual’s right to choose their faith, while others have questioned what may have prompted the former pastor’s dramatic change.

It remains unclear whether Gold has publicly explained the reasons behind his decision or provided further details about his transition from Christianity to Ifá.
