The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded 2,705 polling-unit results out of the 3,763 expected results for the 2026 Osun State governorship election on its Results Viewing Portal (IReV).
The figure, recorded at about 18:57 on Saturday, represents 68.6% of the expected results, according to the IReV portal reported by our correspondent.
LAGOS EYE NEWS reports that voters across Osun State’s 30 local government areas went to the polls on Saturday to elect a governor for the next four-year term.
Fifteen political parties are contesting the election, with incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke seeking re-election on the platform of the Accord Party.
Two candidates Adesina Adeyemi-Doro of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Simon Adewale of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) had earlier withdrawn from the race, although their names remain on the ballot.
Mr Adeyemi-Doro endorsed the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, while Mr Adewale declared his support for Mr Adeleke.
Early results uploaded to the IReV portal showed Mr Adeleke winning at one of his polling units, where the Accord Party secured 57 votes against 43 for the APC.
The results are still being uploaded as collation continues across the state.
The election has also been marked by allegations of vote-buying, intimidation and other forms of electoral violence in some locations. Voting, however, proceeded peacefully in several other areas.
