The Imole Campaign Council has accused Senator Francis Fadahunsi, representing Osun East Senatorial District, of attempting to intimidate voters during Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State.
In a statement signed by its spokesman, Pelumi Olajengbesi, the campaign council alleged that Fadahunsi was seen and heard at his polling unit at NUD Primary School, Ilase-Ijesa, instructing supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to monitor voters’ choices.
The council further alleged that the senator directed his supporters to take action against voters who did not support the APC.
Describing the alleged conduct as “scandalous, unacceptable and undemocratic,” the campaign council called on security agencies to intervene immediately and prevent any attempt to intimidate voters.
The statement urged the authorities to protect voters and ensure that the electoral process remained free, fair and peaceful across the state.
The council also criticised Fadahunsi over what it described as a repeat of his previous controversial conduct, saying it had expected the senator to have “learnt his lessons.”
The allegations have not been independently verified, and Fadahunsi’s response to the claims was not included in the statement.
