The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the August 15, 2026 Osun State governorship election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has commended party leaders, members and supporters for their commitment and support throughout the campaign and election period.

Oyebamiji, in a statement issued on Monday, said he remained grateful to the people who supported his candidacy and believed in the development agenda presented by the APC to the people of Osun State.

Although he expressed disappointment over the outcome of the election, Oyebamiji said he respected the position of the electoral umpire and supported the APC’s decision to review the result.

He said, “Although, we had hoped for a different outcome in the election, in the meantime, we respect the position of the electoral umpire and I totally support the decision of our party in its ongoing review of the outcome of the election.”

The APC candidate also appreciated voters who supported his campaign, as well as volunteers, party members and leaders across the state who contributed to the success of the campaign.

According to him, while the election had ended, the values and causes championed during the campaign remained relevant, stressing that he would continue to work towards effective, inclusive and rapid development of Osun State.

Oyebamiji urged APC members and supporters to remain engaged, organised and committed to the collective interest of the state.

He also appealed to his supporters to remain calm and peaceful in the post-election period, while raising concerns over alleged attacks on APC members and supporters.

He called on the Osun State Government, the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to intervene and prevent further violence.

Oyebamiji said the alleged attacks on APC members had assumed a new dimension within 24 hours after the election, urging security agencies to act swiftly to halt what he described as an “ugly trend.”

The APC candidate, who signed the statement dated August 17, 2026, concluded by thanking voters, supporters, party members and leaders for their “unwavering commitment, sacrifice, and support,” saying he remained proud of the campaign his team ran.
