Former member, House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye, popularly known as Small Alhaji, has resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said this in a statement made public on Wednesday, said his decision was based on his personal conviction and that of his supporters.
Adefisoye represented Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency of Ondo State cited the alleged lack of effective internal mechanisms within the party for addressing grievances and resolving issues as a major reason for his resignation.
“I hereby formally resign my membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC),” he stated.
According to him, his decision followed concerns over the party’s approach to handling grievances and internal disputes.
Despite his resignation, Adefisoye said he remained committed to the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and would continue to support his administration.
“I wish to state, however, that I remain committed to the success of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and I will always be available to support and work towards his success,” he said.
The former lawmaker also disclosed that he had requested the APC to remove his name and all records relating to his membership from the party’s register.
Adefisoye, however, clarified that his resignation did not occur recently, explaining that he only decided to make it public for the record.
“For the avoidance of doubt, this resignation is not recent. I am only making it public now for the record,” he said.
His resignation comes amid continuing political realignments within Nigeria’s major political parties.
