The Lagos State Government has paraded 98 individuals allegedly involved in the vandalism and destruction of construction materials along the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Fatai Tijani, addressed the press on the recent arrests, reaffirming the commitment of the Lagos State Police Command to protecting critical national infrastructure and ensuring that scavengers, vandals and other criminal elements do not undermine government projects.
The Commissioner stated that the command would intensify efforts to identify, arrest and prosecute individuals involved in the theft and destruction of construction materials.
The Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, has also vowed that anyone found vandalising materials or disrupting the construction of the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway will be apprehended and made to face the full weight of the law.
The Police Commissioner further assured Nigerians that the command remains committed to safeguarding the project and other critical infrastructure across the state.
