The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the August 15, 2026 Osun State governorship election, Bola Oyebamiji, has congratulated the winner of the election, Governor Ademola Adeleke, while urging party members and supporters to remain calm and united.
Oyebamiji, in a statement after addressing APC leaders, members and supporters in the state on Saturday, expressed appreciation to those who supported his campaign and the party’s “Prosperity Agenda” throughout the election.
He also thanked APC leaders, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former party chairman Bisi Akande and former Osun State Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, for their guidance and support.
While accepting the outcome of the election, Oyebamiji expressed concern over incidents of violence recorded during the poll, including the loss of lives.
He called on security agencies to thoroughly investigate the incidents and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
“No political contest should cost any Nigerian their life,” he said.
The APC candidate, however, said the party would continue to pursue any legitimate concerns arising from the election through lawful and constitutional means.
He urged APC supporters not to be discouraged, but to remain calm, united and committed to democratic processes.
Oyebamiji further called on APC members to begin preparations for the 2027 general election, particularly the mobilisation for the re-election of President Tinubu and the success of APC candidates in Osun State.
He said the party’s commitment to building a prosperous Osun remained unwavering, stressing that the “Prosperity Agenda” was still alive.
He added that the party would continue working towards an Osun State where opportunities are accessible to all, resources are equitably deployed and governance serves the interests of the people.
