The Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP) has confirmed that veteran Nollywood actor, Prince Adewale Adeoye Elesho, has successfully undergone surgery and is currently recovering.
The confirmation was contained in a statement issued over the weekend by the association’s National Publicity Secretary, Prince Adejonwo Oluwafemi.
According to the statement, Elesho’s operation was successful, while his condition remains stable as he recuperates.
The development comes amid concerns over the veteran actor’s health following reports and speculation on social media about his wellbeing. Some unverified reports had claimed that Elesho was battling skin cancer, with concerns reportedly heightened by observations about his appearance at a public event.
However, the ANTP moved to address the speculation and reassure members of the public about the actor’s condition.
Oluwafemi expressed appreciation to fans, colleagues and well-wishers who had reached out, prayed and shown concern for the veteran actor.
“We give all glory to God for the successful completion of his operation. We hereby confirm that the operation was successful. He is stable and recuperating well,” the statement said.
The ANTP further thanked everyone who offered prayers, calls and support, describing the gesture as a reflection of the love and goodwill surrounding the veteran actor.
