The Police Division in Badagry, Lagos State, has raided an alleged illegal alcohol manufacturing facility in the Iyafin area of the community.
The operation, carried out on Wednesday night, led to the arrest of a 48-year-old man, identified as Emeka Anieba from Anambra State, who was allegedly involved in the production of fake and illegal Flamigo alcoholic drinks.
According to sources, the raid followed credible intelligence received by the police regarding alleged illicit alcohol production at the location.
The operation was led by the Divisional Police Officer of the Badagry Division, CSP Jude Nwokolo, alongside other officers.
Police reportedly recovered several items suspected to have been used in the production and packaging of the adulterated alcoholic beverages.
Anieba remains in police custody as investigations continue into the alleged illegal manufacturing operation.
Police are expected to establish the source of the materials and determine whether other individuals are connected to the operation.
