President Bola Tinubu on Sunday visited the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, at the Iga Idunganran Palace on Lagos Island, where he received prayers and counsel from the traditional ruler.
Tinubu was welcomed by members of the royal household, while residents, All Progressives Congress (APC) members, supporters and well-wishers gathered around Marina and Isale Eko to welcome his convoy.
During the visit, Oba Akiolu prayed for the President, his administration and Nigeria, seeking divine guidance, peace and prosperity for the country.
The monarch also offered counsel to the President on national issues and the welfare of Nigerians.
Tinubu was accompanied by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, APC stalwarts, political associates and other dignitaries.
The visit formed part of the President’s engagements with traditional rulers and other stakeholders following his return to Lagos.
Residents along the route turned out in large numbers as the presidential convoy passed through Lagos Island, creating a lively atmosphere around Marina and Isale Eko.
The meeting further strengthened interaction between the Presidency and the traditional institution in Lagos, with Oba Akiolu expressing prayers and goodwill for the President and the nation.
Tinubu later departed the palace after receiving the monarch’s prayers and counsel.
