Just two days after the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) lost 25 personnel in the tragic aircraft crash in Ondo State, another NAF helicopter on Wednesday made an emergency landing on a farmland in Makurdi, Benue State.
The NAF T-129 attack helicopter made a precautionary landing after developing an in-flight technical fault.
The crew reportedly executed standard emergency procedures and landed safely, with no casualties recorded and no damage to property.
All personnel on board survived the incident and safely exited the aircraft, averting what could have been another major tragedy.
The incident occurred at Utur Tse-Igboji, Bar Council Ward, Makurdi, along the Welfare Quarters–Mopol 13 Ring Road.
Residents of the community reportedly rushed to the scene to assist the officers on board after the helicopter landed on the farmland.
A community member, Stephen Ikpam, who reported live from the scene, said the incident could have resulted in another tragedy if the helicopter had crashed.
He expressed gratitude that all the personnel on board survived, while praying for the protection of security officers.
The circumstances surrounding the technical fault were not immediately disclosed by NAF.
