FCT Police Order Probe Into Alleged N450,000 Solicitation During Investigation |LAGOS EYE NEWS

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has ordered an investigation into allegations that an individual was asked to pay N450,000 for “mobilisation and petition” while seeking to have a matter investigated at the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

The allegation was made in a video circulating on social media by a content creator identified as “Tumma Gabriel”.

According to Gabriel, he was allegedly asked to provide the sum of Four Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N450,000) in connection with the investigation of his matter at the FCT Police Command CID.

Reacting to the allegation, the FCT Police Command said it strongly condemns such acts and does not encourage its officers to solicit or demand any form of remuneration before, during or after investigations.

Consequently, the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, PhD, FCAI, has ordered a thorough investigation into the allegations.

The Command said the investigation would seek to identify any police officer or officers who may have been involved in the alleged act.

It warned that any person found liable would be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of the Police Act and Regulations.

The Command also appealed to the complainant to contact it through 08180382808 and visit the Command Headquarters to assist the investigation by providing relevant information that could help identify the officer or officers allegedly involved.
