Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have recovered and neutralised explosive devices planted by terrorists to cause havoc to commuters along the Magami–Hannutara–Dansadau Road in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The troops, acting on credible intelligence, secured the affected area and conducted a thorough search, during which they identified two locations where explosive devices had been planted.
An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was subsequently deployed to the scene. The team successfully destroyed one of the devices and safely recovered and rendered the other harmless.
Following the operation, the troops intensified patrols and surveillance in the area to protect residents, safeguard commuters and prevent further security threats.
Members of the public have been urged to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious objects or activities to the nearest security agency.
The operation forms part of ongoing efforts to protect lives and property and prevent terrorist activities in Zamfara State.
