ARISE News Channel has announced the immediate and indefinite suspension of political analyst Anthony Kila from its programmes following allegations that he falsified his academic credentials.
In a statement issued by its Editorial Board, the news network said the decision followed an investigative report by Premium Times, which raised serious questions about Kila’s academic qualifications.
The channel disclosed that it contacted Kila on October 3, 2026, to give him an opportunity to respond to the allegations.
According to ARISE News, Kila requested additional time to address the claims but had yet to respond 10 days after the initial contact.
The network said the allegations had continued to escalate, making his continued appearances on its programmes untenable.
“ARISE News was unaware of these allegations at the time Anthony Kila appeared on our platform,” the statement said.
The channel added that it takes issues of credibility and integrity seriously and had taken note of the findings contained in the Premium Times investigation.
ARISE News subsequently announced that Kila, who had appeared on the channel several times as a freelance political analyst, would no longer feature on any of its platforms, either now or in the future.
The decision takes immediate effect, according to the statement signed by the ARISE News Editorial Board.
Kila’s response to the allegations was not included in the statement.
