The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has directed all accredited insolvency practitioners in Nigeria to renew their accreditation and complete a mandatory re-registration exercise on or before December 1, 2026.
The Commission said failure to renew accreditation by the deadline would result in automatic suspension, making affected practitioners ineligible to undertake or continue insolvency assignments.
In a notice issued by its management, the CAC stated that the directive was in line with Section 705 of the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA), 2020, and Regulation 1.07 of the Insolvency Regulations, 2022.
According to the Commission, accreditation for insolvency practice is valid for three years and must be renewed upon expiration.
The CAC also announced that all accredited insolvency practitioners, including those whose accreditation remains valid, are required to re-register.
It explained that the exercise was necessary to support its end-to-end automation process and update identification records in accordance with the NIMC Act, 2026.
The Commission added that new certificates featuring enhanced security measures would be issued to practitioners upon successful registration.
It directed all affected practitioners to complete their renewal and re-registration applications online through its dedicated portal at https://insolvency.cac.gov.ng.
Further information on the exercise is available on the Commission’s official website, www.cac.gov.ng.
The CAC urged practitioners to comply promptly with the directive to avoid disruptions to their professional activities.
