A private jet operated by Triton Aviation lost a cabin door mid-air at an altitude of about 3,000 feet shortly after taking off from Abuja.
The aircraft reportedly landed safely, with no casualties recorded.
Following the landing, air traffic controllers confirmed that the cabin door was missing from the aircraft’s fuselage.
The detached door was later found on a farm in Abuja by local farmers.
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) confirmed the incident and referred the investigation to the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB).
The NSIB has deployed investigators to the scene to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Further details, including the cause of the door detachment, are expected as the investigation progresses.
