This was disclosed by the Minister of Education, Dr. Morufu Olatunji Alausa, during an inspection visit to the university. The Minister, who was represented by the Director of University Education, Hajia Rakiya Gambo Salisu, stated that based on the current level of preparedness, the institution is ready to admit students for the next academic session.
“We’re here to see what is on the ground in terms of facilities, structure, and others, and I can tell you, based on what I’ve seen, we can start bringing in students by September,” she said.
Dr. Alausa commended the efforts of Senator Sunday Marshal Katung, who represents Southern Kaduna at the National Assembly, for his resilience and commitment in facilitating the establishment of the institution.
He also lauded the appointment of Professor Williams Barnabas Qurix as the pioneer Vice Chancellor, describing him as the right choice given his extensive academic experience.
In his response, Senator Katung expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani for their pivotal roles in bringing the university to life.
“I feel highly elated that this institution has come to be in our time. I remain thankful to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and Governor Uba Sani for their collaborative efforts in making this dream a reality,” he said.
