Oyo Govt Averts Major Fire Disaster at Bola Ige Business Complex|LAGOS EYE NEWS
The Oyo State Government has successfully averted what could have been a major fire disaster at the Bola Ige International Business Complex (BIIBCO) in Gbagi, Ibadan.
According to reports, security personnel on duty noticed smoke billowing from Shop 332. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the source was a spark caused by an improperly installed solar energy system.
Reacting swiftly, the security team alerted the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Investment, and Cooperatives, which in turn contacted the Oyo State Fire Service for urgent intervention.
The State Fire Service promptly deployed two fire trucks to the scene. Their rapid response contained the fire and prevented it from spreading to nearby shops, thereby averting substantial damage and potential loss of lives.
Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment, and Cooperatives, Hon. Adeniyi Adebisi, who visited the scene, confirmed the cause of the incident.
He commended the Fire Service for their professionalism and quick action, noting that their efforts were critical in minimising the impact of the fire
