The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a woman over the alleged murder of a 65-year-old man at a service apartment in the Oko-Oba, Abule-Egba area.
Police spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, said officers were alerted on March 29 after the man’s body was discovered.
Investigations revealed that two days earlier, the suspect had rented the apartment with the deceased but fled hours later with his car and valuables, promising to return.
A subsequent check led to the discovery of the man’s lifeless body, alongside an empty syringe, malt cans, and water bottles, prompting suspicion of foul play. After an intensive search, the woman was apprehended on Saturday night and confessed to poisoning the man by spiking his drink.
The body was deposited at LASUTH mortuary for autopsy, and police have since identified the victim.
Commissioner of Police, CP Owohunwa Jimoh, assured the public that the Command remains committed to delivering justice and ensuring public safety.
