NDE Launches Nationwide ICT Training to Boost Staff Capacity |LAGOS EYE

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has commenced a three-day Information and Communication Technology (ICT) training programme for its staff across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The training, which began at the NDE Model Skills Acquisition Training Centre in Bwari, Abuja, is aimed at equipping the staff with essential technological skills to effectively implement President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Director-General of the NDE, H.E. Silas Ali Agara, emphasized the importance of the training in advancing the agency’s mandate of job creation and economic empowerment.

He noted that the first phase of the Renewed Hope Initiative has been successfully concluded and charged participants to devote themselves fully to the training in order to deliver optimally in the second phase.

“This ICT training is critical to the success of our programmes. Our staff must be fully prepared to leverage technology in executing the next phase of the Renewed Hope Initiative,” Agara stated.

Also speaking, the Director of Public Relations and Strategy, Mr. Edmund Onwuliri, lauded the DG for initiating the training, describing it as a first-of-its-kind effort to enhance the digital proficiency of the NDE workforce.

One of the participants, Dr. Mabel Onyedinefu, expressed appreciation to the management for the opportunity to build staff capacity, assuring that the trainees are committed to applying the skills gained to meet the demands of their roles.
