Niger State is set to host the inaugural flight for Nigeria’s 2025 Hajj exercise, following its commendable pace in timely preparations and comprehensive planning.
This was disclosed by the Executive Secretary of the Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Sheikh Muhammad Awwal Aliyu, in a statement announcing the flag-off of the airlift.
Sheikh Aliyu revealed that UMZA Aviation Services, the airline responsible for transporting pilgrims from the state, will commence the airlift on Friday, May 9, 2025. A total of 2,881 pilgrims from Niger State are scheduled to be airlifted to Saudi Arabia for the annual pilgrimage.
He noted that preparations are in full swing, with Board officials working diligently to ensure that every aspect of the journey is handled with precision and care.
“Our goal is to make this year’s Hajj a spiritually enriching and memorable experience for all our pilgrims,” Sheikh Aliyu stated.
The Executive Secretary also commended the support and leadership of Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, describing him as a leader who has shown unwavering commitment to the welfare of pilgrims and the success of the Hajj operations.
