In what has been described as the largest aerial assault since the onset of the war, Russia overnight launched a staggering 355 drones at Ukraine, intensifying its offensive amid ongoing deadlocked truce negotiations with Kyiv.
The massive drone barrage marks a significant escalation in Moscow’s military campaign, drawing strong international attention and criticism.
Reacting to the development, former U.S. President Donald Trump took to his Truth Social platform, sharply criticizing Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“I’ve always had a very good relationship with Vladimir Putin of Russia, but something has happened to him. He has gone absolutely crazy!” Trump wrote.
He further warned that Putin’s ambition to seize the entirety of Ukraine could prove disastrous for Russia.
“I’ve always said that he wants all of Ukraine, not just a piece of it, and maybe that’s proving to be right. But if he does, it will lead to the downfall of Russia!” he stated.
Trump, who has previously maintained a cautious stance on the conflict, told reporters he is now considering tougher sanctions on Moscow due to mounting frustration with Russia’s approach to stalled peace talks.
The White House has yet to formally respond to Trump’s remarks or indicate whether additional sanctions are under active consideration.
