Operatives of the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC) have arrested an 18-year-old suspect found with a concealed weapon during a routine patrol in the Ikoyi-Obalende area.
The arrest occurred as part of a scheduled patrol from the Ikoyi-Obalende Command to monitor the conduct of the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) at Osbourne schools — including Wahab Folawiyo Senior High School, Government College Ikoyi, and Akande Secondary School.
After ensuring that students completed their exams and vacated the premises in an orderly manner, the LNSC team extended their patrol within the Osbourne axis.
LAGOS EYE NEWS reports that during this exercise an officer from the command apprehended the suspect, identified as Mr. Sulaiman Sanni, who was found in possession of a bag containing a concealed axe.

The suspect reportedly attempted to resist arrest but was quickly subdued, and backup officers were called to the scene.
During preliminary interrogation, Sanni initially claimed he had no known family members. However, a man identified as “Coach” later confirmed the suspect’s identity, contradicting Sanni’s earlier statement. The suspect’s family was subsequently contacted for questioning.
Mr. Sanni was later transferred to Onikan Police Station for further investigation and possible prosecution.
