Nollywood actress Ajara Lasisi, popularly known as Aunty Ajara, has died after a prolonged illness.
Her death was announced on Thursday by filmmaker Tobi Oladele Teemony (Tee Mony), who said she passed away overnight following a courageous battle with sickness.
Teemony and the actress’ family expressed gratitude to colleagues and members of the public for the prayers, support and donations received, while urging people to stop sending further financial contributions.
Aunty Ajara’s death comes barely a week after Nollywood figures appealed for urgent funds for her treatment amid reports that her condition had worsened.
