The Lagos State Government has presented financial assistance cheques to another 300 beneficiaries under the Eko Cares Programme, as part of efforts to promote inclusive governance, social protection, and responsive service delivery across the State.

The presentation ceremony, held at the Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement (OPL&CE), underscores the State Government’s continued commitment to supporting vulnerable and indigent residents.

Speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary, Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Engr. Sholabomi Shasore, congratulated the beneficiaries and described the initiative as a clear demonstration of the dividends of democracy promised by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Kadri Hamzat.

Shasore, who conveyed the goodwill of the Special Adviser on Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Dr. Afolabi Abiodun Tajudeen, said the financial assistance programme was designed to provide relief and support to residents facing economic challenges.

She encouraged beneficiaries to take advantage of various government interventions aimed at improving the welfare of residents, stressing that such support reflects the administration’s commitment to compassionate and people-oriented governance.

According to her, the Eko Cares Programme remains a key component of the State Government’s social protection framework, tailored to address the needs of vulnerable groups across Lagos.

She also advised beneficiaries to utilise the financial support judiciously to improve their living conditions, meet pressing needs, and invest in sustainable livelihood activities in line with the purpose of the assistance.
